About
Built from the ground up
Torque Theory was built from the ground up by someone who knows what it means to earn every step.

It starts in a dealership bay
Our story starts in a dealership bay, where our founder, Jeffrey Alexander, began his automotive career washing cars and learning the value of hard work. That dedication led to years of hands-on experience, countless hours of training, and ultimately becoming a Master Technician.
From the shop floor to the classroom
Driven by a passion for performance, he expanded his expertise beyond the shop floor and into the classroom, teaching automotive students the science of engine efficiency, tuning, and real-world power production. That blend of technical mastery and instructional experience shaped the foundation of Torque Theory.
A facility of our own
When the opportunity came to open a dedicated performance facility in Coupland, Texas, Torque Theory took its next leap forward. With the installation of a professional dynamometer, the shop became a place where horsepower, torque, and tuning aren't just talked about. They're measured, refined, and proven.
A complete automotive solution
Today, Torque Theory has joined forces with Auto Medic Repair to offer a complete automotive solution. From precision performance tuning and dyno testing to everyday repairs, maintenance, and tune-ups, we are a full-service shop committed to delivering accuracy, reliability, and results you can feel.
At Torque Theory, we don't just chase numbers. We create them.
What we do best
GM LS and LT engines. Naturally aspirated, cammed, supercharged and turbocharged. That is the platform this shop knows in its hands rather than out of a manual, and it is where the sharpest work gets done.
Plenty of other things come through the door and get done properly. But if you have an LS or an LT, you are bringing it to somebody who has already met the problem you are about to describe.
Equipment
The Dynojet 224xLC
A two-wheel-drive chassis dynamometer with an eddy-current load absorber alongside the inertia drum. The load cell is the part that matters: it lets us hold the engine at a chosen speed and load instead of only measuring what happens during a wide-open sweep.

Standards
What we will not do
Short list, strictly kept.
01
Tune around a fault
If the car has a mechanical problem, it gets fixed or the session stops. Calibrating over a failing fuel pump just hides it until it takes the engine with it.
02
Disable a safety to make a number
Knock control and limp strategies exist to save engines. Turning them off is how a tune looks brilliant for three months.
03
Quote a figure we cannot show you
Every number we publish has a run sheet behind it, with the conditions it was recorded in.
04
Sell you the next step by default
Sometimes the honest recommendation is that the car is where it should be and the money is better spent elsewhere.
Come and ask hard questions.
Bring the car, bring the history, bring the parts list you are not sure about. That conversation is free.
