What we do to engines

In the order people actually book them. Calibration is the core of the shop; the rest exists because a tune is only ever as good as the hardware underneath it.

Everything we do

  • Dynojet 224xLC

  • HP Tuners
  • Baseline pulls
  • Custom ECU calibration
  • Engine blueprinting

The dyno

A number without a graph
is just a story.

The graph above is a real session: a Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG, three consecutive pulls, published with the air temperature and humidity they happened in.

That broad plateau is what a supercharged M113K should look like, with boost climbing alongside engine speed rather than waiting on exhaust energy. Every figure is measured at the wheels, because a chassis dyno cannot measure anywhere else.

Pricing

What it costs, before you call

Published because a shop that will not put a starting number on a session makes you ring up to find out whether you can afford it, and most people just do not ring.

Dyno session

Most booked

from$250

Three to four runs on the rollers, with the printed run sheet to take away. The most common reason people book.

Custom tuning

from$250/ hour

Dyno time is included in the hourly rate, not billed on top of it.

Vehicle inspection

add-on$75

Optional, on top of a session. OBDII scan plus tires, brakes, engine, transmission and driveline condition. Carried out at the customer's own risk.

HP Tuners credits

from$50/ credit

License credits that unlock write access to your ECU. Charged separately because the count depends on the vehicle (typically 2 to 20).

The shop

We don't just chase numbers. We create them.

Our founder, Jeffrey Alexander, began his automotive career washing cars in a dealership bay. Years of hands-on work and training later he became a Master Technician, then took what he knew into the classroom, teaching automotive students the science of engine efficiency and real-world power production.

When the opportunity came to open a dedicated performance facility in Coupland, Torque Theory took its next leap forward. With a professional dynamometer installed, horsepower and torque stopped being things the shop talked about and started being things it measured.

Today Torque Theory has joined forces with Auto Medic Repair to offer a complete automotive solution: precision tuning and dyno testing alongside everyday repairs, maintenance and tune-ups, from one address.

The facility

We poured the pad it sits on

The Dynojet 224xLC is not a rented hour somewhere else. It is installed here, in concrete that was cut, formed and poured for it, which is the part nobody photographs and the part that decides whether a number repeats.

Limp Triscuit

Had a great experience with Torque Theory! Jeffrey was extremely knowledgeable, honest, and took the time to make sure everything was done right. You can tell he genuinely cares about the cars and the people he works with, not just getting you in and out. The dyno/tuning process was professional and thorough, and I was really impressed with the results. Everything was explained clearly, and I felt confident knowing my vehicle was in good hands. If you’re looking for a tuner who knows their stuff and actually cares about doing quality work, I definitely recommend Torque Theory. I’ll absolutely be bringing my vehicle back and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to other enthusiasts in the area. 🔥🏁
